Idaho – Upland Bird Hunting Preserve

MIke-Willard-fairThis shooting preserve was created in 1999 for a handful of outdoor enthusiasts living in the Sun Valley, Idaho area. They have two Idaho State Fish & Game licensed shooting preserves in Idaho. One is 12 miles southeast of Fairfield and the other is a few miles west of Shoshone. Both preserves are loaded with wild and stocked pheasants, chukar and quail. Their season runs August 15th through April 15th.

They release a large number of upland gamebirds for each hunt and are one of the few Upland Gamebird Shooting Preserves that offer Guides as needed. Their Guides are licensed under our Idaho State Outfitters license. They can also provide dogs but hunters are welcome to bring their own.

Little Wood Ranch Preserve – Shoshone, ID
Located near Sun Valley , Idaho , this preserve is truly a pheasant hunters dream and is loaded with over 500 acres of thick cover, ditch-banks, river bottoms, corn and food plots, and surrounded by thousands of acres of Bureau of Land Management property. You’ll find pheasants galore along with chukar and quail. There is a lodge with bathrooms, shower, and dressing room as well as a separate guides building for cleaning and packaging game birds. Dogs are kept in an indoor/outdoor kennel which is maintained daily. The Little Wood River runs through the middle of this property and forks in four different directions. This preserve has over a dozen custom built bridges for easy access.

62.1 miles from Sun Valley and just a 53 minute drive.

Camas Prairie Preserve – Fairfield, ID
This preserve is also located near Sun Valley . This vast preserve covers over 2,500 acres of private land, bordered on all sides by hundreds of square miles of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) property. With a breathtaking view at over 6000′ elevation, it is great chukar hunting. As “real” as it gets in a preserve situation. The terrain on this preserve is moderate to steep and has very thick cover. There is also a small cabin located on this preserve that is available for overnight stays in a very private and mountain setting location.
